Your profile

As an Associate Multimedia specialist at Dogpatch Labs, you will bring together graphics, copy, video, photography, and audio to create a range of assets that can be published across a suite of digital channels. Working under the guidance of a Senior Multimedia specialist, you will be responsible for capturing and creating captivating photography and videography, as well as contributing to the design of various marketing assets. Your collaborative efforts will help ensure our content aligns with our brand and marketing strategy across various channels, multiple  brands (Dogpatch Labs, NDRC, HBAN,Founders, 2050 Accelerator and Patch).


You’ll work in a wider marketing team of highly motivated and skilled marketing professionals, in areas of Marketing strategy, Digital Marketing, Social Marketing, online Marketing and PR. You’ll also get the opportunity to work with and learn from regional hub partners all across Ireland, creating marketing assets together for far-reaching impact.


Key Responsibilities:


Asset Production

  • Capture and editing of high-quality photographs and videos with proven experience or knowledge of: 

    • Composition: Understanding how to arrange elements and create visually engaging photographs and videos, e.g rule of thirds, leading lines, and symmetry.

    • Lighting: work with different lighting conditions and techniques to properly illuminate subjects and scenes. This includes using natural light, artificial lighting (such as studio lights), and manipulating light sources to create desired effects.

    • Sound: Understanding how to capture clear and high-quality audio when recording videos. E.g using microphones, minimising background noise, and adjusting audio levels during editing.

    • Editing: Having skills in post-processing and editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom Classic. E.g. Colour correction, cropping, adding effects or filters, and seamless transitions.

    • Motion and Camera Techniques: Knowing how to employ camera movements like panning, tracking, and tilting, as well as stable shooting techniques like using tripods or gimbals to ensure smooth and steady footage.

    • Framing and Perspective: Being able to choose different angles and perspectives to convey certain emotions or tell a story effectively. This includes wide-angle shots, close-ups, and unique angles to add depth and visual interest.

    • Timing and Pacing: Understanding how timing and pacing can enhance storytelling and create a dynamic visual experience. This includes knowing when to cut or transition between shots, adjusting the speed or tempo of a video, and syncing visual and audio elements.


  • Graphic Design with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with proven experience or knowledge of:

    • Design Principles: Colour theory, hierarchy, typography, alignment and balance etc. 

    • Social Media Content: visually engaging and on-brand social media posts, (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X).

    • Print Assets: such as brochures, in office posters and banners used for events, conferences, marketing campaigns, or physical promotions.

    • Digital Content: web banners,email templates, and digital signage (in office TV monitors). 

    • Email Design: email templates and layouts, including header graphics, call-to-action buttons, images, and overall email aesthetics. 

    • Website Design(Squarespace): Collaborating with the company groups to create or enhance website designs, including the layout, typography, colour schemes, graphics, and overall visual elements. This could involve designing homepage visuals, landing pages, or other sections of multiple websites.

    • Optimise visual content for online platforms, ensuring they are mobile-friendly and meet SEO requirements.


Control

Organise and maintain a visual content library (photos, videos, and graphic assets).

  • Branding and Visual Identity: Assisting in the development and maintenance of consistent brand style guides, ensuring that all visual assets created align with the brand identities (e.g logos, colours, fonts, and tone of voice.)

  • Quality Assurance: Acute attention to detail to ensure design assets align with varying brand messages, strategies, and guidelines.


Strategy

  • Assist in the development of content ideas and storyboards for videos and visual assets.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team and wider company departments to plan and develop visual content that aligns with brand and marketing strategies.


Research and Innovation

  • Staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in multimedia and graphic design. Actively seeking out new tools, techniques, and creative ideas to enhance the group’s content.

Terms

  • 1 Year Fixed-Term

  • The role is a full-time, on site role based at our offices in the CHQ Building, Custom House Quay, Dublin 1, Ireland.
